Before you buy: know the risk. The Miles & More terms forbid trading in miles (section 2.1.3) and any trading in award tickets (section 2.3.7), and Lufthansa can block awards and end the membership. That risk sits with the account holder and the traveler, and no broker, including us, can remove it. Buying directly from the airline carries no rule risk. From LoyaltyLobby, May 1, 2026. Miles & More bans buying miles in general but makes exceptions it publishes itself, and Bundles are sold under that exception, so buying a Bundle carries no rule risk.
What Has Changed at Miles & More
- Dynamic pricing since June 3, 2025: Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian awards now price with the cash fare. Star Alliance partner awards moved to a fixed chart: from North America to Europe, 50,000 miles in economy and 125,000 in business (One Mile at a Time).
- Lufthansa First since June 1, 2026: first class seats no longer appear in partner programs such as United, so Miles & More is now the main way to book them with miles, with high taxes and fees (The Points Guy).
- Transfers: since November 2025, Rove miles transfer 1:1; no major US bank program does. Marriott no longer converts points to Miles & More miles.
- Expiry: miles expire 36 months after they post, unless you hold status or an eligible co-branded card.
