Who Writes and Reviews Our Content
The Points King is owned and operated by Joseph Hellman-Benjamin, Founder and CEO, based in Miami, Florida. Joseph writes or personally reviews every guide, program update, and valuation published on this site before it goes live. He draws on years of hands-on experience buying and selling miles and points across more than 25 airline and hotel loyalty programs, plus a background in marketing and brand communication.
We do not publish anonymous or AI-generated content without human review. Every article carries a byline, and every byline is a real person accountable for what is written.
How We Source and Verify Information
Program rules, transfer ratios, award charts, and redemption values change often. When we state a fact about an airline or hotel program, we check it against that program’s own current terms and conditions rather than relying on memory or older articles. When we cite a rate, a timeline, or a policy that affects our own transactions, such as how quickly we pay or which programs we work with, we state only what we can stand behind and are prepared to honor.
We link to outside sources when a claim depends on them, and we favor primary sources (an airline’s own program page, a hotel loyalty program’s official terms) over secondhand summaries.
Independence of Our Recommendations
The Points King buys and sells miles and points directly, as a principal, not as a referral service. Our valuations and program comparisons are based on our own transaction data and market research. No airline, hotel chain, or credit card issuer pays us to rank their program favorably, and none reviews our content before publication. Our Affiliate Disclosure and How We Make Money pages explain exactly how this site is monetized.
Keeping Content Current
Pages covering program values, transfer partners, and market conditions are reviewed on a recurring schedule rather than written once and left untouched. Where it matters to the reader, we note the date content was last reviewed or updated at the top or bottom of the page.
Accuracy and Disclaimers
We write in plain, direct language about how The Points King operates, including things like typical payment timing and our process, because vague corporate language is not useful to a reader trying to decide whether to trust us. That directness comes with a limit we want to be upfront about: operational details can change, individual transactions vary (a payment can take longer if a customer is not available to complete a transfer, for example), and we are describing our normal process, not guaranteeing a specific outcome for any one transaction. The same goes for any page describing how this site makes money: it reflects our business as we understand and run it today, not a binding representation for every future scenario.
If you ever read a claim on this site about how we operate, how fast we pay, or how we are compensated that does not match your actual experience, we want to know so we can correct it. See the Corrections Policy below.
Corrections Policy
We get things wrong sometimes: a program changes its rules faster than we update a page, or we make a plain error. When that happens, we want to know.
- How to report an error: email hello@thepointsking.com or call 1-866-367-5099 with the page URL and what you believe is incorrect.
- What happens next: we verify the claim against the current source (the program’s own terms, our own transaction records, or other primary documentation) and correct the page once confirmed.
- How we handle it: a factual correction is made directly to the page. For a change significant enough that a reader’s earlier decision might have depended on the old information, we note the correction and the date it was made.
Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@thepointsking.com.
