Capital One Venture Rewards Review: A Flat 2X Card for Any Airline

The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is not an airline card. It is a general travel card that earns 2 miles per dollar on every purchase and lets you move those miles to more than 15 travel loyalty programs. It costs $95 a year. Every figure below is from Capital One’s card page, read on October 10, 2026.

What a Mile Is Worth

Capital One’s own earnings example values 52,800 miles at $528, which is 1 cent a mile. At that rate the card returns 2% on everything you buy.

On the same math the 75,000-mile bonus is worth $750. With the $300 stays credit, Capital One describes the offer as more than $1,000 in travel value.

Miles moved to an airline or hotel program can be worth more or less than 1 cent, depending on the flight or room you book. Capital One’s card page does not list the transfer ratios; its transfer partners page does. Miles do not expire while the account is open.

How It Differs From an Airline Card

An airline card pays most on that airline’s own tickets and adds benefits at the airport. Capital One’s page lists no checked bag or boarding benefit for the Venture card. What you get instead is the same 2 miles per dollar everywhere, and miles that are not tied to one airline.

Other Benefits

  • Complimentary Hertz Five Star status, with enrollment.
  • A $50 experience credit on Lifestyle Collection hotel stays.
  • No foreign transaction fees.

Who Should Skip It

  • You fly one airline and check bags. That airline’s own card will usually save you more in bag fees than this card earns in extra miles.
  • You received a new cardmember bonus on a Venture or Venture X card in the past 48 months. Capital One says the bonus is not available to you.

If You Have Capital One Miles You Will Not Use

Brokers, including The Points King, buy Capital One miles for cash. Capital One’s rewards terms only permit transfers between eligible Capital One accounts and to its travel loyalty partners, so selling miles to anyone else breaks them, and Capital One can forfeit the rewards or close the account. Read the risks of selling miles and points first, then see what Capital One miles sell for.
