Before you sell: know the risk
Alaska’s Mileage Plan is now Atmos Rewards, and selling Atmos Rewards points is against the program’s rules (see the Atmos Rewards terms and conditions). An airline that links an account to a sale can close it and cancel the points in it. We cannot promise how Alaska will respond to a sale.

Price guarantee: the price per point we agree with you in writing by email is the price we pay once your points transfer is complete.
Atmos Rewards is the program that replaced Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan in August 2025, so Alaska miles are now Atmos Rewards points. Our Alaska miles page covers the same program.

Other ways to earn Atmos Points
If you’re looking to build your balance before you sell, here are the main ways to earn Atmos Rewards points:
1. Flying
Alaska says that since October 1, 2026, members can choose how they will earn points on flights departing on or after January 1, 2027: by distance traveled (1 point per mile flown), by price paid (5 points per $1 spent) or by segments flown (500 points per segment). The choice can be changed once per calendar year. See Alaska’s announcement for the details.
2. Atmos Rewards credit cards
The lineup includes the Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite card, the Atmos Rewards Ascent Visa Signature card and the Atmos Rewards Visa Business card. Alaska says the Ascent and Business cards earn 3x points on eligible Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines purchases.
3. Everyday partners
Alaska says members who link their Lyft and Atmos Rewards accounts earn 2 points for every $1 spent on everyday Lyft rides, and 3 points for every $1 on airport and elevated rides.
4. Transfer partners
Marriott Bonvoy points transfer to Atmos Rewards at a 3:1 ratio, with 5,000 bonus points for every 60,000 Marriott points transferred, according to Marriott’s transfer page.
Partners and rates change, so check Alaska’s Atmos Rewards announcement for the current picture.
For the card behind most Atmos balances, see our Atmos Rewards Ascent review. Whether a program says points or miles makes no difference to what it is worth: airline points vs. miles explains why. All the programs we buy are on the sell points page.
1. How much are Atmos Rewards points worth in cash?
Travel Value: On average, Atmos Rewards points are valued highly when used for international first-class travel.
Cash Value: When selling to a broker, you can expect a competitive cent-per-point rate depending on total volume.
Bulk Premium: Accounts with over 200,000 points often receive a 10–15% higher rate due to the ease of processing larger transactions.
2. Is it legal to sell Atmos Rewards points for cash? Selling Atmos Rewards points is against Alaska’s program rules. Whether a sale creates legal exposure beyond that depends on the facts and where you live. This page is not legal advice.
3. How long does the transaction take? We reply with a quote by email. Payment is by PayPal. Most customers are paid within 15 minutes of completing the transfer.
4. Will selling my points affect my Atmos membership status? It can. Alaska can close an account it links to a sale, and status goes with the account. See the risk box above.
